Description

Those little seaweed flakes you see on okonomiyaki or takoyaki, sometimes ramen, are called ao, little bombs of umami flavor made from dried aosa seaweed.

The aosa seaweed used to make this aonori product comes from Mikawa Bay, south of Aichi Prefecture where the manufacturer Nagai Nori is based. Harvested between May and November.

Aonori is a very similar type of product that is more powdery with even stronger umami aroma and flavor but made from a slightly different type of seaweed.
